Live Oak

Live Oak is open today for member play. On this cold Thursday morning Live Oak re-opens after an extensive aerification. 45 degree temperatures this morning is offering a cold start of the day. Rainfall of 3.10" this week has help with greenup.

Live Oak update

Today we are having the fairways fertilized.  We continue to push growth to the Live Oak fairways and we are seeing improvement. The temperatures are finally warming up to help us with recovery. Also today we are dusting the greens with a light topdressing. As I said last week this practice will continue weekly leading up to aerification starting May 5th. 

Yaupon

Yaupon greens are doing well since aerification. We have begun to lower the mowing heights on the mowers since the aerification. Each day we get a better quality of cut and tomorrow (Friday) we plan on mowing and rolling the greens. We look forward to seeing you out on the course this weekend. 

Live Oak

Today at Live Oak we applied a balance starter fertilizer to the fairways--So when it does decide to finally warm up for good we will be ready. We also topdressed greens and will continue this weekly to help with the ball roll. Starting next week we will begin rolling the new sod on the greens that was completed this week.

Today we have started laying some sod on the Greens at Live Oak. We started on #14 and #15 ( should be done today). Then we will move to #10 and front of #11. After a few days of watering the new grass we will begin rolling and topdressing these areas. We would appreciate that you play these areas as ground under repair and try walking around the areas until we get it to root in some. Thank you for your cooperation. 

Weather Update

After a few days of warm night this morning we are at 39 degrees. With similar temperatures expected tonight. We need the warm nights to help with the Yaupon aerification recovery. I hope this is the last of the winter temperatures.
