Overseeding.

Today we have started putting out our winter overseed at Live Oak. Yesterday we were able to get the seed on the tees and today we are concentrating on the fairways. We will reopen Live Oak on Monday 9/29. We look forward to having a nice overseed at Live Oak this winter.

Rainfall

Last nights rainfall total is in the neighborhood of 5". 

We will be Cart Path Only all day and we will reevaluate tomorrow. 

There is a lot of debris and trash all around the course that we are working on getting cleaned up. Also we will be working on repairing the bunkers that washed out last night. 

With more rain forecasted mowing anything will be a challenge the rest of the week. 

Yaupon GCM Shop

We have also got the Yaupon shop repaired from the wind storm. The back covered storage was lifted up by the wind and mainly dislodged the support beams.

Live oak storm shelter

We finished repairing the shelter on #6 tee box today. It was damaged by the high winds in the storms a few weeks ago. 

Equipment update

We received a couple of new pieces of toro equipment this week. 

The top is a toro multi pro 5800 sprayer. It is a 300 gallon tank that will help us cover more ground. 

The bottom picture is a new heavy duty toro workman. This vehicle will help move bigger/heavier material.   It also has a planet air aerifier/spiker with it. This will allow us to keep the greens opened up in between normal aerifications. This process causes minimal disruption. 

We are excited to have this upgrades and look forward to getting a lot of use out of them. 

Equipment

We received a new greens triplex this week. We will keep the mower here at Yaupon and are excited to upgrade our fleet of equipment. The triplex is a Toro 3250-D with groomer brushes. We are also expecting a new Toro multi-pro 5800 spray rig. It is going to be a 300 gallon tank which will help us cover more ground a little faster. I will keep you updated on its arrival. 

Spraying tees and collars.

Yesterday at Yaupon we were able to spray all the tees and collars. We were able to spray a product that should eliminate all the weeds. It will also remove the last of the overseed that is hanging around. There will be some browning from the spray that will be temporary. We will work on getting live oak sprayed on Thursday - weather permitting. The application will need to be repeated in 10-14 days to knock them all out.
