Here are a couple of pictures from today Greens venting….
This has minimal disruption but does worlds of good for our greens. It helps the low cut greens reduce compaction, helps water move in the profile, and lets the soil profile breathe. We are glad that the time change hit this weekend— this helps us get more sun to the greens that are in the shade most of the morning in the winter months (examples #1, #2, #11). These greens are getting extra care such as added granular fertilizer and topdressing. The longer hours of sun and sand will also help with the algae formation. Once we get consistent warm temperatures it will help the areas fill in and the extra fertilizer will get them moving.
Thanks for everyone getting out and supporting the associations. We have had great turn outs on each groups play days and it is a great way for everyone to meet new members of the club.
