#18 Hydraulic line

Had a few questions about the trench and pipe on 18 Yaupon. We had to run a new line for the hydraulic irrigation due to a leak in the fairway that runs up the middle of the fairway. The leak was not coming to the surface  so we decided to run a new line to fix the problem. We have a little more Trench to connect then we will be laying the pipe in the trench and covering it back up.  With the recent rains it has been too wet to finish the trench but hopefully we can get back over there soon.  I would recommend playing the area as ground under repair.  We were able to weedeat the grass down along the ditch- please remain playing the hole as Cart Path Only because if the pipe gets damaged all the sprinklers heads will try to come on and probably cause The pump station to fault out.

Thank you for your patience as we try to get this back to normal as soon as we can,

The GCM Staff

Yaupon Maintenance Monday

Today was a busy maintenance Monday.  We were able to get 2 leaks fixed, mow 8 holes of rough, mow fairways, topdress greens, brush greens, and spray greens - I would call that a productive day.

Course updates.

Well as they say “When it rains it pours” - From limited rainfall over the past 2 months to 4+ inches over the last week and more predicted for today, tonight, and tomorrow.  The courses will be cart path only for the next few days. As for course conditions, we will be playing catch up for the next few days(probably into next week).  Our plan will be to mow what we can as things dry out but fairways, tees, and especially rough will be thick(long) until we can catch up.  The greens at both courses will continue to be mowed and we plan on topdressing both sets of greens next week.  At Yaupon we are seeing some scalping on the greens - the plan is to topdress and increase growth regulators to help with this issue. Once the rain stops we will check bunkers, push up washes and move sand around to proper depths. The good news is all the ponds on the course that were getting pretty low will fill up.

Thank you and stay dry,

The GCM Staff.

New rough unit.

Took out our new rough mowing unit today — New Kubota tractor with a Toro Groundsmaster 1200 rotary pull behind mower.  Should help us get larger areas mowed faster and better than before. Look forward to learning what all the new unit can do.
