Monday Maintenance

Today at Yaupon we were able to complete a backtrack vertical mowing on the greens. Followed that with a coco mat brushing then watering in tonight.  Be aware that we have many holes dug on #1 fairway trying to find a leak. It will be Cart Path Only for a few days as we continue to evaluate the situation in the second shot landing area. We will continue trying to determine if it is leak or a spring coming out of the ground rock.

Continue Working

Thursday we ran 1/4” tines  on 2,3,6,8,11,14,18 greens. Followed by topdressing and a granular fertilizer application. We continue pushing some greens and spot to maintain vigorous growth. Next Thursday we will spike and apply another fertilizer. Yaupon we will vertical mow and brush greens on Monday. This will help to thin out the overseed going forward.
Thanks for all the support as we work through all the projects going on at the clubs.

Lots off Activity

This has been a busy week here at the club.... Along with Yaupon aerification we started the cart path work budgeted for this year and cut a trench across 8 fairway at Live Oak to add a new electrical line to the bathroom on 4 tees.  So far everything appears to be moving along quickly and aerification went well (reopening Yaupon on Thursday morning). Here are a few pics of the progress:

Aerification Yaupon

Hopefully this weeks lows in the upper 30's is the end of the cold mornings. Starting this coming Monday 4/8/19 will be Yaupon's first aerification. The course at Yaupon will reopen on Thursday of next week. Tomorrow at Live Oak we plan on aerifying 3, 8, and 18 completely with small 1/4" tines. We will also spot aerify some on 2, 6, and 11  followed with a light topdressing and roll. We also plan on making our second Nematode application and make a granular fertilizer application. As we look forward to the weather it looks like warmer lows/highs and rain this weekend.  I will continue to update as we move forward and will try to post some pictures after tomorrow's work.
