Today at Live Oak started some cart path repair on #10. The project will continue to #11 also. The spots being repaired are the worst areas on these holes. We look forward to the improvements.

Golf course Update

Recently many members had inquired about the condition of the greens at Live Oak. With cooler spring temperatures and many days of limited sunshine some of the greens are slow greening up and growing as Spring begins. A good rule of thumb for Bermuda grass to start growing is a combined temperature of 150 (the low and high temperatures added together). There has not been many of these days this spring and we have also had some lows in the 40s recently. We are monitoring the situation daily and have a plan moving forward as we wait on temperatures to increase. This Thursday we are going to pencil tine aerify the greens following with a dusting of sand. The sand will help with ball roll and also reduce the algae on the greens. We will then continue to fertilize the greens regularly until we start getting some good growth. Also in the coming days the staff will begin resodding some of the larger areas with small plugs (concentrating on 4 collar, 5, 11, and front of 15). I will keep you update as we move forward in the coming weeks and please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank You and look forward to some warmer sunny days,
Tyler Easterwood
