Cart Path Markers

We got Live Oak cart path yardage markers repainted this week. Yaupon was done a few weeks ago. 

Live Oak Driving Range

The driving range tee at Live Oak is going to be pretty wet today. Last night the sprinkler heads on the tee stuck on. It will be mats only today. We are sorry for the inconvenience. 

Yaupon Overseed

We started mowing fairways, tees, and greens at Yaupon on Monday. It will take a few mowings before it looks good. Right now we will battle lots of clippings and wet areas. We are still evaluating the seed on the greens due to the heavy rains 2 days after seeding. We have added some seed to a few of them where we know we had some washing. We are going to remain cart path only for a week or so because of wet areas and seed germination.

Yaupon Update

Today Yaupon is closed for a one day aerification. Over the past 10-14 days we have seen good recovery on the greens. With this said we still feel that this aerification and the scheduled aerification in August will do a great deal by removing old material and replacing it with new sand. During this process we are able to incorporate soil amendments easier into the greens mix. We thank you for your patience and continued cooperation during this process. 

Sun

The sun is finally decided to come out. This week we are going to try and get everything mowed. We cut some of the fairways today but some areas remain too wet to mow. Rough is going to be very long until we can get around to mow it all. We are working as fast as we can to get everything back to normal. We appreciate your understanding.

May Rainfall

 Another 1" of rainfall over night bringing our recorded total over the past few weeks to over 11". It is extremely wet especially #4 and #6 at Yaupon and numerous holes at Live Oak. We will remain Cart Path Only through the weekend and will evaluate the situation early next week. Rainfall is predicted again tomorrow and then it looks better for next week. Please keep carts on the paths. One last thing is the fairways and rough will be extremely long due to the weather and lack of dry days and areas to mow.

Live Oak Aerification

Thank you to all that participated in this past weekends Member/Guest tournament. I hope everyone had fun and enjoyed the weekend. 

Today(Tuesday 5/19) we have started our first aerification on the Live Oak greens. We will reopen on Friday(5/22).

Hail damage.

As many have seen last nights hail storm caused some damage to the greens. This morning we blew off all the debris on the greens. Tomorrow we start our core aerification at Yaupon so no big issue there. Live Oak tomorrow we will roll the greens in the morning and see how they look. If they look OK we might try and mow them in the afternoon. Also all week we will be picking up limbs and debris at both courses. It is going to be a long week. We appreciate your understanding and we will work hard to get everything cleaned up as fast as possible.

#2 Live Oak.

We added rubber mats to the stairs going up to #2 tees at Live Oak.
